+ Foam Construction Methods

The list below displays the different types of foam cushioning available to you. Our sales staff can assist you with the type of foam interior that is best suited for your budget and application. We offer the following foam inserts for all of our cases:

No Foam The case is provided empty inside with no foam cushioning at all. This is good for items that have no fragility such as cables, clothing, literature, etc.
Foam Lined The case comes with a foam lining on all 6 sides. The most common foam linings are 1" or 2" thick, but any size is available. This is a great interior for accessory cases or cases that will be used to ship multiple items that are not extremely fragile.
Foam Filled The case comes with the entire interior filled with foam. The foam can be in 1" or 2" thick layers or be a solid piece. This is good for people who want to cut the foam themselves to meet their own requirements.
Pick 'n Pluck The case comes filled with foam that is pre-scored in 1/2" by 1/2" squares that are easily removable to create your own custom interior. The lid generally has a solid or convoluted (egg crate) foam filling. This type of foam is primarily designed for smaller case applications and size limitations do apply.
Fabricated Foam Cushion The case comes with a complete custom fit interior. The foam is fabricated to the exact dimensional specifications of your equipment. This can range from simple to complex shapes. This is the preferred foam interior for delicate electronic pieces such as computers, monitors, video gear, and all other types of fragile equipment.
Die Cut Foam Cushion  The case comes with a custom fit interior that is made from a steel die formed to your exact specifications. This is good for interiors with many cutouts and small shapes. This is also a great way to save money on smaller cases where the volume of cases is high. Size limitations do apply.
Water Jet Cut Cushion The case comes with a custom fit interior manufactured using a water jet CAD CAM driven machine cut to your exact specifications. This is good for interiors with many cutouts or difficult shapes.

+ Foam Material Types

Polyethylene
Firm, closed cell foam, best for general use with heavier equipment. Color charcoal gray. Meets MIL P 26514, type 1, class 2 specifications.
Polyurethane   Softer, open-cell foam, best for lighter weight sensitive equipment with high volume to weight ratio. Color charcoal gray.
ELE    Lower cost Poly-Ether with the look and feel of polyurethane foam. Best for lighter weight, less expensive equipment with high volume to weight ratio. Color charcoal gray.
Cross Link   Closed cell, with a smoother surface feel than regular polyethylene. Good for applications outside the normal PE foam area, replacing materials such as vinyl foams, neoprene, natural rubbers, polystyrene and other polymeric materials. Color charcoal gray.
Anti Static    Available in both Polyurethane and Polyethylene versions.  This type of foam inhibits the buildup of static electricity and helps dissipate static charge.
